They even ate the dogs June 11, 2010 at 6:13 pm

“Feather Fall? You know I nearly died in the bottom of that pit!”

Trinity blushed, “In the excitement… I kind of well forgot about it.”

Meg’s glare didn’t lessen a bit. “How can I write an poem about the death of Foxglove when I was 4′ under water when all the excitement came down!?”

“It’s cute when you stomp your little foot like that.”

Meg’s glare could cut steel. “That. isn’t. funny. Zeke.”

“Just go for the ‘crazy revenant chick gets her revenge angle, that always works’”

Now, it’s Zeke’s turn to glare “Hey, I finished him off while you were down swimming with the bard.”

Just a quick wrap up, sorry to be so far behind on these.

Fighting the ghouls in the farms and getting to Foxglove Manor netted 2500 exp *I’d previously posted 1600 so if you already recorded the 1600 just bump it by 900 exp

Last weeks session at Foxglove Manor was a monster 10 hour session and we got a ton done. We got a whopping 4800 experience.

After the party killed off most of the ghouls in the farmlands the farmers moved back in, slaughtering the remaining ghouls and burying their dead.

Foxglove manor burned for 3 days with an eerie greenish glow. Travelers along the coast road reported seeing strange shapes in the smoke and one person claims to have brave soul ventured out to the point and seen a massive hole in the ground with a sickly greenish glow pulsing like a heartbeat. He didn’t investigate further because he claims he was attacked by a swarm of odd fungal squirrels.

Letter from Foxglove manor and details on exp below.

Grim Alchemist June 10, 2010 at 9:10 pm

Privateer Press’ Trollbloods Grim Angus…

I’ve retasked him as a half orc Alchemist. He will be taking the weapons feats and use a skattergun.

Troll Repose March 22, 2010 at 10:45 pm

Did a bit of work with the dremel, some green stuff, and re-posed both of my trolls.  The first is a pretty big change with the stance, the second is just a more subtle tweak of the one hand to turn it sideways.

Gnome Sorcerer Mini – Fofix March 7, 2010 at 12:53 am

Hope you enjoy Fofix, my latest and maybe best mini paint yet. He is a gnome sorcerer if you can’t tell.

Now that I’m done painting him I see all the flaws under the critical eye of the macro lens. I like the way the hair came out and I am reasonably content with the eyes. The little tiny details like that are tough for me; maybe I should invest in some finer brushes. The flames look reasonably cool and were one of the appeals of this particular mini but there is some wonkiness in the way the paint came out. Probably the biggest issue with him is the fact that I didn’t clean the mold lines before painting.

Expirimenting with a New Technique February 19, 2010 at 3:48 pm

A friend suggested that using a light primer with a darker wash would provide some good contrast to help bring out details early in the painting process. Most of my minis I’ve painted using a dark green, gray or black base so this is a bit of an experiment. Here are the results.

Overall I have to say it looks like it’s going to be a lot easier to grab the details out. I picked the green because I’m going to try and keep that color in the dark parts of the mini for a sort of sickly look.

Wulf Minis February 18, 2010 at 3:08 pm

A set of wolves which I traded for. I showed two previously, this is the rest of the set and a group shot. The idea is to have 5 wolves, 3 I can use as Winter Wolves, 3 I can use as hell hounds, and 3 I can use as normal (dire) wolves, so the normal ones get triple duty :)

Bunch O Minis February 9, 2010 at 5:20 pm

Hell HoundI just finished a big batch of minis the other day.  They were done in a big batch so none of them are super high quality but they will be a nice addition to the table.  This guy here was one of my favorites, my attempt at a Hell Hound.  Check out the whole batch…

RPG Superstar February 7, 2010 at 8:45 pm

If you haven’t been following things I entered an annual contest at Paizo called RPG Superstar.  The idea is to find talented RPG designers.  The first round they selected 32 entries out of…  hundreds (they keep the exact numbers quiet). This year my entry was selected as one of the Top 32 magic items which means I advanced into the main part of the contest.

My first round entry which got me into the competition was called  Pharasma’s Blessing.

The second round 32 competitors made a pitch for a monster.  No stat blocks but a description of the creature and it’s powers.  In the second round the judges criticized the entries but the competitors advanced based on public voting.

My second round entry (voting closed), the Brown Urus, helped me get into the third round of the competition.  With 16 competitors remaining this round we all crafted a creature stat block from one of the other competitors entries.  Our entires are in and the judges are currently stewing over the Top 16 entries and coming Tuesday (the 9th) they will release their opinions of the entries.  Hopefully they like my third round entry a bit more than my second round.

Voting for the third round starts on the 9th when they reveal the monsters for all to see.
